§ 002 · THE PRACTICE

A quiet
insistence on craft.

LA Development Partners is a Los Angeles construction management practice. We guide the making of buildings — from the first honest conversation through the last walk-through — alongside a vetted network of architects, engineers, and builders.
§ 01 · WHO WE ARE

A considered middle — between client and craft, between owner and build — keeping the whole of a project held together, from sketch to structure.

· 01 · ORIGIN

We began in 2020 with a suspicion that the best construction is held together not by hammers but by judgment — that a project's quality is set, for better and mostly worse, in the weeks before ground is broken.

· 02 · PRACTICE

Six years on, we work across residential, medical, and commercial — private homes, adaptive reuse, market halls, mixed-use — always as the single point of accountability between owner and build.

· 03 · METHOD

Our long-vetted roster of builders, architects, engineers, and designers operates through us. One schedule, one drawing, one budget — kept honest by a small team holding the whole.

§ 02 · PRINCIPLES
Six things we believe.
01

Considered, always.

Every decision earns its place. Every detail is given time. Speed is a side-effect of clarity, never the point.

02

Plainspoken.

We name things for what they are. If a number is soft, we say so. If a drawing is wrong, we fix it. No performance.

03

A network, not a rolodex.

A small roster of partners we have built with before, over years and hundreds of projects. Trust is accumulated, never assumed.

04

Measure twice, cut once.

The project is set before ground is broken. Thorough planning up front earns back its weight in calm, predictable delivery.

05

One room.

Owner, architect, engineer, builder — at one table, on one schedule, held to one standard. No silos.

06

Pride of workmanship.

A white-glove standard, held to by everyone we bring to the site. The finish is felt long after the invoice is paid.

What the hand touches, considered.

§ 05 · ORIGINS
The practice is new.
The hands are not.
Fifty years of combined work brought here, under one name. A roster built the long way — a project at a time.
MMXVII — MMXX
Separate paths. Parallel craft.   Banking, private equity, CIM, JLL, CBRE. Our principals' paths cross through years of buildings and balance sheets.
MMXX
Sweeping ADU legislation passes statewide. Our managing principal is tasked with leading his firm's construction management — building ADUs as the engine of his firm's investment strategy.
MMXXIII
Hundreds of units in, the roster is tested and the demand is plain. Elijah Leskinen founds ADU Builder LA — white-glove entitlement and end-to-end construction management — which soon outgrows the category into practice across asset classes.
MMXXIV
Austin Nissly, Matt Carney, Matt Osborn, and Andrew Altman combine LightWell Real Estate Partners and Keystone Investors to form LWK Partners — quickly one of the pre-eminent West-Coast operators, $160M+ GAV and a deep pipeline.
MMXXV
The five converge to deliver LWK's builds. As the systems settle, LA Development Partners is founded — to offer the same discipline beyond a single portfolio.
001
MMXXVI
A practice, continuing.
